Manual states CT's arrows must point towards grid/inverter. If on the service conductors those are different directions. Can anyone clarify?

"AC OUT" & "AC IN" sizing question

Hi from Colorado, where I'll do an off grid uninspected project with one MN-AIO inverter combined with a DC coupled PV array.

The generator is EcoGen rated 15kW at sea level, but altitude deration takes that down ~11,250 watts (below 47 amps). Page 7 of "the MN-AIO book" says maximum output current is 47.5 amps, but is that regardless of how much PV wattage is connected?

If I've got that right, 47.5a * 1.25 = 60 amp rating for my mechanical bypass switch & #6 THHN copper wire for AC IN and for AC OUT. OR: does AC OUT exceed 47.5a if the generator is running plus the AIO is contributing additional amperage?

Midnite folks, please chime in when convenient.

Thanks in advance, Mick A.

it has a 100 amp pass through, so should be sized for 100A?

Firmware

I purchased an all in one and two 16kw batteries last Fall and they have been running since October. Can someone communicate Midnite's strategy on getting the firmware glitches wrapped up?

I would also like to know. I am having issues with my AIO randomly shutting down and not reading SOC correctly every few months on my EG4 powerwall and it is quite annoying.

Nema 1 wireway - Noob

Lets try out this forum. I want to buy my first wireway. I don't know what I am doing. This will be a wireway to join AIOs and PF16s.

This is all conjecture of what I think I want:

  • Nema 1 8" x 8" screw cover wireway without knockouts.

  • Order in 2 or 3 sections to be joined to make weight manageable.

  • Order from local supplier. CES is local, am I going to pay through the nose any more with them than anywhere else?

  • Going with 8x8 instead of 10x10, even though AIO is 10 deep. Vertical space on wall is limited. Only planning to use back set of knockouts on the AIO which I think will line up just fine with the 8x8.

We have opted for 2 options with our installations. All of them centered around a 12x12 gutter (the 10x10 would work but the front holes would interact with the edge of the gutter strangely). We either went with a 6' so we could put 2 inverters on top and have connection room for other equipment or we went with a 2' unit to just go under the inverter.

Whenever purchasing gutters you are going to spend some $$ but it really speeds up the installation.

I have attached pictures of both options:

You will note that we didn't stack the inverter on top of the battery, That is because you would need a step stool to look at the screen, really get up there in height. Also the batteries don't have a great option for that so we switched to this method.

I ordered our gutters from Zoro.com, wasn't cheap but the time savings and the easy of adding extra equipment later is well worth it.
